Linux users have the free command to display their total used and free memory, along with other statistics. As far as I could tell from Google, such a command does not exist for BSD. I wrote freemem to solve this problem; it is able to query sysctl for three variables: page size, page count and free pages. From that point a bit of simple math is required to display the total memory (pagecount*pagesize) and the free memory: (pagefree*pagesize).
